Research Emphasis

Primary research areas include mapping the genes for the sheath blight (Rhizoctonia solani) phytotoxin sensitivity in rice; identifying sources of resistance for false and kernel smuts of rice; identifying cultural management practices that mitigate smut disease incidence; and identifying mutant reversion alleles for pericarp color in rice.
