C. Roy Adair Undergraduate Research Internships
The Department of Plant Pathology is privileged to announce the C. Roy Adair Undergraduate Research Internship Program. This program is funded by an endowment established to honor the late Dr. C. Roy Adair, a geneticist and plant breeder, whose accomplishments helped establish the preeminence of the Arkansas rice industry.
Conduct your own research project under the guidance of faculty in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Arkansas.
PROGRAM DETAILS: Applicants should be in the top 25% of their class.
The 12-week session will begin in mid-May.
Stipends were $5,600 in 2009.
Applicants should have completed 90 credit hours.

The Bollenbacher Legacy
An Adoption of a resolution established the “Katharina BOLLENBACHER Memorial Scholarship” during the year 1993.
The late Miss Katharina Bollenbacher, Fayetteville, Arkansas, was a member of the Class of 1934 at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and received the M.S degree from this campus in 1936. Miss Bollenbacher was employed by the research staff of the United States Department of Agriculture immediately following the hearing of her graduate degree and continued with that agency until her retirement in 1971. The USDA assigned her to work at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1955 as a Cooperating Agent with the Agricultural Experiment Station, a relationship which continued until her retirement. Her scientific contributions in investigation of diseases of cotton and in weed control contributed, significantly, to the science of agriculture and were of importance to cotton consumers and producers, as well as to other scientists.
The agricultural professionals with whom she worked, her many friends and the members of her family have contributed funds for an endowed scholarship to honor, and to perpetuate, her memory within the University of Arkansas.
The income, only, from the investments of this fund shall be used to award an annual scholarship to an upper –level (Junior or Senior class standing) undergraduate student through which that student shall have an opportunity to participate in mycological research in the discipline of Plant Pathology, at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. It is hoped that the experiences of such recipients will enable them to evaluate their capacity for graduate work in that discipline.
